Overview


The Senior Manager of Business Applications plays a crucial role in providing leadership, strategic direction, and effective management support for corporate product suites, including ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and MES (Manufacturing Execution System).

Focusing on the manufacturing sector, this position is responsible for cultivating strong relationships with business stakeholders, utilizing a deep understanding of industry-specific workflows.

With a proven track record in executing large-scale transformation initiatives, enhancing production stability, and delivering ongoing support, this individual brings a unique skill set that promotes operational excellence and value-driven outcomes.

The Senior Manager will oversee technical projects aimed at optimizing, automating, and scaling business applications while acting as a thought leader in assessing and implementing enterprise-level technology platforms.

Expertise in standardization and change management practices is essential, as the Senior Manager will play a key role in fostering adaptability and driving positive change within the organization.

This position merges strategic insight with practical experience, contributing to the success of business initiatives across a diverse manufacturing landscape.

The Senior Manager will also lead and mentor the Business Applications team, manage executive stakeholders, and drive significant improvements through agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, integration, and platform teams to ensure solutions align with target architecture and meet business objectives.
  • Build and nurture a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring, and training, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Make staffing decisions based on business requirements and individual performance.
  • Work with internal and external teams to ensure effective support and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Assist in the development of organization-wide systems standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business partners, handling escalations and providing high-level service to support customers and production operations.
  • Communicate the overarching vision to business and IT stakeholders at all levels to achieve alignment with target architecture and roadmap.
  • Facilitate workshops, forums, interviews, and other business interactions using familiar tools and techniques for status assessments and solution implementation.
  • Stay informed about technology trends and their practical applications to enable evolving business and operational models.
  • Lead architecture and technical activities for ERP and MES assessments, defining the technology vision and strategy for current and future products.
Qualifications

Requirements:
  • B.S. in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in ERP solutions (e.g., Oracle Cloud, PeopleSoft, Workday).
  • 7+ years of experience in leading and managing teams.
  • Experience with MES solutions (e.g., Siemens, Plex, Infor for Manufacturing) is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Proven track record of engaging with CxOs and key decision-makers.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and regulations (SOX, PCI) is a plus.
  • Exceptional change management skills and experience in assessing change impact.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise ERP solutions and experience in full life cycle implementation.
  • Strong project management skills with a focus on planning and organization.
