The Senior Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will play a pivotal role in steering the financial planning, analytical assessments, and reporting functions within the organization. This position demands a strategic thinker with extensive experience who can navigate complex financial operations, provide insightful analysis, and contribute significantly to the overarching financial strategy of Playfly LLC. The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with executive leadership, influencing the financial trajectory of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the FP&A team, ensuring efficient execution of financial processes and compliance with deadlines.
  • Deliver actionable insights to senior management through precise, comprehensive, and timely financial reports and analyses.
  • Guide, mentor, and develop the FP&A team, including Senior Financial Analysts (SFAs), fostering professional growth and providing support.
  • Act as a primary advisor to the VP of FP&A and other senior executives on financial issues.
  • Manage the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and variance analyses, ensuring data accuracy and insightful commentary.
  • Analyze sales performance across all business units and communicate findings to the executive leadership team.
  • Enhance financial reporting models utilized for closing, budgeting, and reforecasting processes.
  • Conduct preliminary variance research post month-end close, sharing insights with finance leads.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process and manage the reforecasting of corporate expenditures.
  • Drive the realization of the Long-Range Plan (LRP) and update it during each budgeting cycle to reflect current and anticipated financial conditions.
  • Supervise the updating of balance sheet and cash flow forecasts to ensure accurate and proactive financial planning.
  • Collaborate with the VP of FP&A to prepare and refine the monthly and quarterly financial package for stakeholders, ensuring high-quality and accurate reporting.
  • Lead the preparation of the monthly Corporate Management Business Review (MBR), providing senior leadership with essential financial insights.
  • Oversee corporate expense reporting, ensuring timely and accurate distribution to department heads, and offer guidance on financial performance.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements in FP&A processes and tools, enhancing efficiency and accuracy of financial data.
  • Facilitate communication between the FP&A team and senior management, ensuring alignment on financial objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required; an MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or related roles, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a comprehensive understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing complex budgeting and forecasting processes in both high-growth and established environments.
  • Experience in managing financial reporting and analysis, focusing on delivering strategic insights to senior leadership.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to mentor and develop finance professionals.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial systems, Excel, and financial modeling software.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000. Actual compensation packages are determined by various factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.

Work Environment

  • This role is primarily sedentary and will be conducted in a quiet office setting.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary for company events and meetings.
