Operations Management Leader

The Operations Management Leader is tasked with ensuring the effective implementation of daily operational strategies and plans. This role involves overseeing, guiding, and distributing resources, communicating essential information to team members, and ensuring adherence to critical processes while meeting safety, quality, efficiency, and financial performance indicators. The position is also accountable for product safety, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervises a minimum of two full-time exempt direct reports, encompassing responsibilities such as recruitment, coaching, skill enhancement, recognition, and performance management, including disciplinary measures if necessary.
- Oversees the operational functions of the facility.
- Evaluates operational productivity targets, monitors daily performance, and ensures goals are met across all shifts.
- Promotes and reinforces a positive workplace culture among team members.
- Ensures the achievement of production, quality, and safety objectives within the facility.
- Reviews and verifies the accuracy of production and inventory reports.
- Coordinates with the operational elements of the Company's Core Excellence Program and conducts regular audits for compliance.
- Plans, tracks, and manages actual performance against the operational budget, including staffing levels, overtime, and overall headcount management.
- Leads initiatives aimed at achieving inventory accuracy goals.
- Ensures accuracy in shipments and loading processes across all shifts.
- Implements process enhancement programs utilizing Quality Driven Management methodologies.
- Assists the General Manager with special projects as needed.
- Identifies and organizes daily tasks for team members, motivating them to achieve desired outcomes in productivity, teamwork, safety, quality, and job knowledge.
- Collaborates across departments to enhance productivity, fostering an environment that values diverse backgrounds.
- Establishes, maintains, and continuously improves performance plans, generating innovative solutions for process enhancements.
- Advocates for a safe working environment through safety training and preparedness for accidents.
Education/Experience
- A Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related operational field is preferred. Alternatively, military experience at ranks E-6-7 or O-2-O3 is acceptable.
- At least three years of supervisory experience, ideally in a logistics setting with responsibilities for WMS, QDM, LMS, P&L, and talent management.
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of guiding other leaders.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or quality management methodologies, along with Green Belt certification, is preferred.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Experience in team building is advantageous.
- Previous exposure to budget planning and P&L management is a plus.
