About This Role

The Benefits Administrator will play a critical role in coordinating all company-sponsored benefit plans, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. This position will work closely with the Director of People & Strategic Operations to develop and implement benefit strategies that support the Institute's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate benefit enrollment and termination processes, ensuring accurate and timely updates in HRIS and vendor systems.
  • Develop and maintain employee benefit files, establishing electronic goals and deductions in HRIS.
  • Organize annual open enrollment for health and dental insurance, flexible spending accounts, and other benefits, collaborating with HRIS open enrollment specialists to establish the portal.
  • Process bi-weekly retirement fund remittances and assist with FMLA, disability, and workers' compensation claims.
  • Regularly attend benefits and industry events to stay abreast of trends and regulatory requirements, educating team members on market innovations.
Requirements
  • Five+ years of direct benefits administration experience, with CEBS/PHR certification a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of benefits laws, rules, and regulations, including COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, and Workers' Compensation.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with applicable government regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS, particularly UKG, system, with proficiency in the MS Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide superior customer service.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to set priorities, with excellent analytical skills to define problems, determine alternatives, and present solutions.
