Job Summary:
The Journeyman Electrician is a skilled professional responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, safety protocols, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and install electrical systems, including wiring, conduit, and control systems
- Maintain and repair electrical equipment, including generators, motors, and electrical panels
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform quality control testing
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
- Supervise apprentices and train general electricians
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry developments
Requirements:
- 3+ years of commercial electrical installation, maintenance, and repair experience
- Journeyman Electrician License or Apprentice license applicable to the state where work is located
- High School Diploma required
Competencies:
- Proficient in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair in all settings
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety protocols, and industry standards
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment:
This role requires frequent travel and working at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme weather conditions. The successful candidate must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.
