Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse II to join our team at the Medical University of South Carolina. As a key member of our Pediatric Heart Center ICU team, you will provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe and effective care to patients with congenital heart disease, utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process.
  • Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired outcomes and provide department/shift leadership in RSL role.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, caring for patients with complex medical diagnoses, including cardiac surgery, Ventricular Assist Devices, and Heart Transplant.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health and wellness.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that enhance patient care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes.
