Job Title: Registered Nurse II

Join MUSC Health & Medical University of SC as a Registered Nurse II in our Labor and Delivery department. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse II reports to the Nurse Manager and will float between Labor & Delivery and Antepartum units. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to patients in Labor and Delivery and Antepartum units.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of two years of labor and delivery experience as a registered nurse required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP) required.
