About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership position that requires a strong technical background and excellent communication skills. As an Equipment Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, coordinating with local plant managers, and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requisition and issue tools, equipment, and supplies related to plant equipment.
  • Coordinate with outside services or vendors for projects requiring specific expertise or capabilities.
  • Inspect work areas and production schedules to determine work requirements.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Interpret company policies and enforce safety regulations.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet schedules.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, cranes, bulldozers, and graders, and train workers in equipment operation.
  • Perform activities of workers supervised as needed.
  • Review installation equipment orders or schedules to ascertain resources necessary to complete project on time.
  • Plan and implement equipment and facility design upgrades and maintenance.
Supervisory Responsibilities

As an Equipment Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising employees in the maintenance department when working on equipment projects. You will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a relevant lead role and 5-10 years of maintenance experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in Electrical Schematics knowledge
  • Experience in working with 110V - 480V
  • High level troubleshoot skills
Competencies
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Planning/Organizing: Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Sets goals and objectives; Organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; Develops realistic action plans.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Computer Skills: Web/internet research on equipment specs and email outlook.
  • Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Must complete BFS safety training.
Work Environment/Physical Activity

This is a working supervisor position with no office. The employee is routinely required to lift up to 50 pounds and is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
