About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Compass Group, North America. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for providing direction and coaching to team members to drive exceptional food and guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively coach and motivate team members to deliver their best performance
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in location operations and drive change
  • Monitor quality and sanitation standards to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Deliver against financial goals and budgets, ensuring profitability and efficiency
  • Set the standard for culinary excellence, overseeing menu development and implementation
  • Manage equipment maintenance routines, par levels, and inventory to optimize operations
  • Support the creation of menu specifications, prep sheets, and line layout diagrams to ensure consistent and efficient food production
  • Perform daily line checks to verify quality and flavor standards
  • Lead game-day culinary operations, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences
  • Manage end-of-month inventory, in partnership with the purchasing team, to ensure accurate stock recording
  • Proactively monitor and manage food waste to drive cost savings
  • Deliver training and coaching to team members on menu and general culinary skills
  • Manage employee breaks to ensure team well-being and productivity
  • Deliver pre-shift meetings to set the tone for events and ensure team alignment
  • Conduct corrective action with team members to address performance issues
  • Complete onboarding and orientation for new culinary team members
  • Ensure all elements of food ordering, delivery, prep, transportation, and service meet Levy's sanitation and safety standards
  • Support other Levy locations as needed, sharing best practices and expertise
  • Support the maintenance and update of recipes to ensure consistency and quality
  • Manage the culinary department budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a culinary leadership position
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Understanding of financial concepts
  • Passion for hospitality, food, and retail
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
