Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist in the development of exhibitions at the International Center of Photography.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct research for upcoming exhibitions, including acquisitions and projects.
  • Develop exhibition materials such as checklists and press lists.
  • Assist with collections management tasks, including cataloging, writing artist bios, and developing resources for museum education.
  • Create a rights database of copyright holders for photographers in the collection.
  • Research current exhibitions on photography to support the curatorial team in developing the exhibitions program.
Learning Objectives

The intern will gain a comprehensive understanding of how exhibitions are conceptualized, researched, and implemented. They will develop valuable skills in exhibitions development, research, and collections management.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in art history, museum studies, photography, or a related field.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Prior experience in a museum setting is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
