Job Title: Case Services Specialist

Join Douglas County as a Case Services Specialist and contribute to the delivery of high-quality services to our community. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support to case workers, supervisors, and the assistant county attorney, ensuring the smooth operation of our child welfare processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to records requests from clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of documents.
  • Coordinate with the county attorney and caseworkers to prepare discovery requests, subpoenas, and CORA requests, monitoring ongoing discovery requests as needed.
  • Coordinate monthly administrative review schedules for ongoing and adolescent cases, ensuring timely notification of all required parties.
  • Negotiate, complete, and manage adoption and RGAP assistance agreements, collaborating with caseworkers and supervisors to ensure required documents are ready.
  • Provide information about Colorado Adoption Assistance programs, explains adoption policy, negotiates financial assistance amount and case services with families.
  • Prepare and execute agreements, collaborating with the Business Office regarding adoption assistance cases for preparation, finalization, closing, and opening cases in state databases.
  • Complete tri-annual reviews of all adoption assistance agreements and meet state/federal guidelines, providing post-adoption case services as needed.
  • Coordinate/facilitate monthly adoption negotiators meetings, including ongoing contact with Colorado county staff to discuss concerns or issues with adoption work.
  • Obtain appropriate documents from caseworkers and county attorneys for completion of time-sensitive agreement paperwork, contacting and meeting with adoptive families and/or prospective legal guardians as needed.
  • Maintain and manage adoption cases in Trails until child's agreement expires, following up with adoptive families to ensure all required documents are kept up to date.
  • Maintain Medicaid caseload in Trails for any adopted child/youth residing in Douglas County, coordinating with the state administrator to gather information needed to open in Trails.
  • Participate in RED Teams, collaborating and coordinating with community members/organizations to secure donations for youth involved with Human Services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to obtaining birth certificates/Social Security Cards, making application for children/youths' vital documents, CBI/FBI background checks, paternity testing, and answering calls on the Human Services hotline.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of two (2) years working in human services, social services setting, or related equivalent.
  • Certifications, licenses, and registrations as required by the position.
