Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide clinical support to patients, physicians, and nursing staff in the Yale Medicine Dermatology clinic. Reporting to the Yale Medicine Nurse Manager, this role is a great opportunity for an experienced LPN to join our team and make a difference in the lives of our patients.

About the Role:

This LPN position requires a high level of clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will have a strong background in dermatology and experience working in an outpatient clinic setting. In addition to providing direct patient care, the LPN will also assist with administrative tasks and contribute to the development of clinical protocols and policies.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain patient histories and medical information
• Assist with medical and minor surgical procedures
• Assess, report, and record vital signs and measurements
• Collect specimens
• Observe patients for physical or emotional changes and report observations
• Prepare examining rooms and maintain medical supplies and equipment
• Respond to medical emergencies and record patient information
• Prepare patients for continuing care after treatment
• May instruct other LPNs and serve as a source of information on nursing matters pertaining to the section
• May administer medications under direction and authority of professional medical staff person
• Schedule and coordinate patient and test appointments
• Perform additional functions incidental to nursing activities

Requirements:

• Four years of related work experience, two of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and a high school level education; or two years of related work experience and an Associate degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and education
• Two plus years of experience as an LPN, with dermatology experience preferred
• Epic experience preferred
• Proven experience in outpatient clinic populations
• Background check requirements apply to all candidates for employment, including motor vehicle, DOT certification, drug testing, and credit checks based on the position description and job requirements

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this role is $65,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience.
