Business Development Lead Job Description

SimVentions, Inc is seeking an experienced Business Development Lead to join our team in Virginia Beach. As a key member of our business development team, you will be responsible for executing business development activities within our government marketplace, with a primary focus on the Hampton Roads area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute business development activities to identify and qualify opportunities in the Hampton Roads market.
  • Develop and execute business development strategies that leverage SimVentions' available contracting methods, including IDIQ contracts, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with procurement influential federal staff and partners to establish a strong market position.
  • Identify potential teaming partners and collaborate across multiple organizations to pursue opportunities.
  • Represent SimVentions at industry events, conferences, and seminars to showcase our capabilities and expertise.
  • Participate in high-level planning sessions to align with SimVentions' overall strategy.
  • Assist in the development of RFP and RFI responses to ensure high-quality submissions.
  • Identify key contract vehicles to support potential DoD tasking and funding.
Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Clearance (United States Citizenship Required).
  • 8-10 years of experience in a federal government customer-facing business development or program execution leadership role.
  • Experience in developing and executing business development activities within the Hampton Roads market, focusing on Navy opportunities.
  • Strong familiarity with Naval Surface Warfare Center markets and customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple business development opportunities at different stages of the capture and proposal process.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Experience in executing business development activities in other DoD branches or agencies.

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000 (USD), which reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
