Role Highlights:
This unique PA role encompasses three key areas of patient care: the inpatient unit, outpatient clinic, and operating room.

As a Physician Assistant, you will have the opportunity to serve as a first assist in surgical procedures while rotating through the inpatient unit and clinic.

You will be part of a collaborative team of six PAs, fostering a supportive work environment.

Our Surgical Oncology department is renowned for its skilled cancer surgeons, recognized throughout the region for their expertise in treating various cancers, including skin, liver, thyroid, pancreatic, and gastrointestinal cancers.

Key Responsibilities:

The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive clinical care in collaboration with Surgical Oncologists. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting physical examinations and assessments of surgical oncology patients in the clinic
- Assisting in surgical procedures
- Rounding on the inpatient unit
- Triage of post-operative patients via telephone and in the office
- Ordering diagnostic tests as necessary
- Supporting physicians during various procedures

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of growth and development principles relevant to the patient population served. The PA must possess the ability to apply these principles in evaluating and interpreting patient information. A delegation agreement with Surgical Oncologists is required. Candidates must hold a Physician Assistant degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of two years of experience as a practicing PA is preferred.
- A valid Physician Assistant License in the State of Maryland is required, in good standing.

Certification Requirements:
- CPR certification.

Proficiency in various computer systems and software is essential. The ability to communicate effectively and interact professionally with colleagues, patients, and the public is crucial.
