As a vital member of the surgical team, the Physician Assistant will operate under the guidance of a supervising surgeon, executing a range of medical duties and technical procedures across various hospital settings. This role is essential in ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Duties: Provide both direct and indirect patient care, prioritizing patient safety and collaborating effectively with healthcare team members.
- Care Coordination: Act as a liaison among surgeons, referring physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including complete histories and physical examinations.
- Medical Orders: Order and prescribe necessary medications, laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other patient care directives.
- Surgical Assistance: Perform surgical assistant tasks, including tissue handling, exposure provision, instrument usage, suturing, and hemostasis management.
- Emergency Response: Assist in trauma resuscitation and manage critical situations in the Emergency Room.
- Patient Education: Instruct patients on discharge protocols, home care practices, medication usage, dietary recommendations, and other healthcare aspects.
Qualifications:
Must possess American Heart Association CPR Certification, NCCPA Certification, and a valid CPR Healthcare Provider and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner license.
