Position: Strategic Planner - Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction

Salary Range: $100,000 - $145,000 (commensurate with experience and technical evaluation)


The Strategic Planner specializing in Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) will spearhead and facilitate strategic planning initiatives across the Department of Defense (DoD) and USSOCOM's CWMD operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective organization and synchronization within the USSOCOM CWMD framework, collaborating with partners and support entities to achieve specified organizational objectives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing content and structure for a segment of the strategic plan that is releasable and aligns with the CWMD planning and synchronization campaign execution. They will lead and support various planning efforts, including the CWMD Strategic Planning Process (SPP), Special Operations Forces Command Integrated Data System (SOFCIDS), Special Operations Command Review Board (SOCREB), and Joint Intelligence Preparation of the Operational Environment (JIPOE) to conduct thorough analyses of the operational environment and define end states.

Collaboration with intelligence analysts is essential to ensure a precise representation of the global Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) landscape.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • A minimum of five years' experience in CWMD activities, particularly in strategic planning processes, policies, and organizational dynamics.
  • At least five years' experience in operational environment analysis and end state development supporting GCC-level operations.
  • Five years' experience in the Joint Planning Process and Joint Planning and Execution community methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification from the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS), or a comparable institution.
  • A minimum of five years' experience working with Special Operations Forces (SOF) organizations or relevant doctrine.
