Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Consolidation Manager to join our team at Sonoco Products Company. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and global consolidation process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and global consolidation process, including the submission of monthly financial information and reporting schedules from the business units.
  • Review consolidated rollforwards, accrual analyses and other consolidation procedures for completeness and accuracy, and provide coaching to staff/senior accountants.
  • Lead the preparation of complex accounting areas such as derivatives, statement of cash flows and key financial statement variance processes.
  • Serve as liaison with the Company's SEC team to assist with the review of 10-Q/10-K filings.
  • Prepare or review periodic financial presentations for the CFO (earnings conference calls, Board meetings, internal management presentations, etc.).
  • Assist with quarterly/semi-annual balance sheet deep dive exercise for corporate entities.
  • Assist with system transformation, and process improvement projects as sponsored by the Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller.
  • Drive improvements, provide accounting guidance and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to evaluate the accounting impact of significant transactions.
  • Manage an effective system of internal controls to ensure financial statements, disclosures and presentations are complete and accurate.
  • Assist with governance over organizational structure and general ledger account changes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of finance experience with 3+ years of progressive experience in a corporate accounting role.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial accounting / reporting with a balance of external reporting and operational analysis, preferably within or associated with publicly traded multinational manufacturing companies.
  • Solid understanding of the concepts of control design and operational efficiency.
  • Strong systems skills (e.g., OneStream, Oracle Finance, supporting data warehouse systems, etc.).
  • High degree of proficiency with excel and other Microsoft Office products with ability to retrieve data, manipulate such data and create useful analytical information.
  • Experience performing complex consolidations of global businesses preferred and strong GAAP understanding.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to details.

The annual base salary range for this role is from $131,920.00 to $148,410.00, plus annual target bonus percentage of base salary. At Sonoco Products Company, we offer a comprehensive total rewards package, including competitive pay and benefits.
