Landscape Operations Supervisor

Crew Leaders (CL) are front-line workers who work alone or oversee a crew of up to 5 technicians. They ensure equipment, work production, and team members assigned to them meet company standards. CLs work hard side by side with technicians to complete the work safely, efficiently, and with quality. This position reports to a Project Manager and may be supported by a Field Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent East Coast Facilities, Inc. - Scranton Service Center in a professional manner.
- Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and follow-up.
- Recognize and address client concerns in a timely manner.
- Maintain a positive, responsive, and flexible attitude to all clients.
- Inspect site and advise Project Manager of potential liabilities.
Crew Supervision
- Manage crew members effectively, ensuring they meet projected budgets and work schedules.
- Prepare and secure materials, tools, and equipment for daily tasks.
- Conduct daily vehicle maintenance, including fueling, paperwork, and cleaning.
- Assign tasks to crew members and ensure work completion.
- Ensure crew members report to work on time and follow company rules.
- Take disciplinary actions as necessary and involve a Production Manager when required.
Crew Training
- Train crew members on company safety policies and procedures.
- Certify crew members in assigned job tasks.
- Train crew members to perform job tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Cross-train crew members in Crew Leader responsibilities for future growth.
- Communicate effectively in English and/or Spanish.
Performance Reviews
- Evaluate crew performance and provide feedback.
- Assist Project Manager in performance reviews for crew members.
- Monitor goals based on evaluation processes.
Safety Management
- Maintain safe working conditions in the field at all times.
- Follow company procedures for discipline if safety rules are broken.
- Achieve zero preventable accidents.
Image Compliance
- Maintain a clean, neat, and professional image of service vehicles and trailers.
- Ensure crew members maintain a professional image using approved uniforms and monitoring employee actions.
Equipment Management
- Ensure all assigned equipment, tools, safety items, vehicles, and trailers are maintained in proper working order.
- Be accountable for neglect and abuse of assigned equipment.
Administrative
- Read and write effectively.
- Organize and implement work schedules.
- Responsible for the following forms and procedures:
- Accident Reporting Forms
- Equipment Inventory Form
- Equipment Repair/Request
- As applicable – MR – FEP - ACP
- Monthly Vehicle Safety Inspection
- Quality Control Inspection Form
- As applicable - Irrigation IMR Form
- As applicable - Trailer Safety Inspection Form
General Qualifications
- Communicate effectively in English, including basic reading and writing skills.
- Hold a clean driver's license.
- Drive company vehicles as directed.
- Operate various types of equipment and machinery associated with the job description.
- Be a journeyman in one or more of the following job sub-categories:
- Professional landscape maintenance operations
- Professional landscape construction services
- Landscape repairs, restoration, and remediation
- Licensed arbor care and tree trimming services
- Landscape irrigation repairs and maintenance
- Perform other assigned tasks related to landscape management.
- Winter Season Operations (if applicable):
- Plow snow using trucks or loaders
- Shovel snow using hand shovels or snow blowers
- Apply salt and other de-icing agents to paved surfaces
- Assist with pre-storm preparedness
- Assist with post-storm cleanup and restocking
- Operate a smartphone, send and receive emails, take digital photos.
- Pass an illicit drug test.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Comply with business ethics, applicable laws, and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
- Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic.
- Work near or about natural bodies of water.
- Work with various types of work lifts.
- Able to work overtime or extended shifts if required by Management.
- Ability to work in extreme conditions – working temperatures may be between 0 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods.
- Ability to work in extreme cold or wintry precipitation.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the day.

Each job category has a range of pay associated with it. Hiring managers have corporate guidance on assigning the appropriate rate of pay based on various factors, including years of proven experience, driving qualifications, equipment operation skills, special licenses, and references from direct supervisors.
