Froedtert Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist Extern within our Surgical Services division. This role is pivotal in supporting both Froedtert West Bend Hospital and Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital.
Position Summary:The Clinical Nurse Specialist Extern (CNS Extern) is a registered nurse currently pursuing a graduate degree aimed at becoming a certified Clinical Nurse Specialist. This position encompasses three primary areas of influence: Patient/Client care, Nursing Practice, and Organizational/System effectiveness.
The CNS Extern plays an integral role in the nursing leadership team, concentrating on various aspects such as individual patient care, population health, healthcare settings, and specific diagnostic specialties.
Utilizing comprehensive knowledge of medical conditions and treatment methodologies, the CNS Extern is responsible for developing tailored patient care plans and population-based health programs, while also providing leadership to ensure high-quality and cost-efficient patient outcomes.
Experience Requirements:A minimum of three years of successful experience as a registered nurse is essential, with a preference for experience in specialized areas.
Educational Qualifications:A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is mandatory. Enrollment in a formal Master's or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program with a concentration in Clinical Nurse Specialist is required.
Training Requirements:Additional specialty certifications or training may be necessary based on the specific work area.
Licensure Requirements:Current licensure to practice nursing in Wisconsin is required. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or an equivalent is also mandatory.
