Job Summary

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a Food Service Assistant to join our team. As a Food Service Assistant, you will be responsible for monitoring and recording the proper temperature of food, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and receiving payment for food and beverages using a computerized register.

This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and customer service skills. You will be responsible for maintaining quality control standards and adhering to Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and record proper temperature of food
  • Set up and maintain a clean and sanitized serving area
  • Prepare and serve food items
  • Restock food areas
  • Clean and sanitize equipment
  • Receive payment for food and beverages using a computerized register

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 16 years of age
  • Previous customer service experience, retail counting, and reconciliation of money
  • Knowledge of food service preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to perform basic math
