Position Overview

The Principal Accountant will collaborate with the Accounting Manager and external administrators to oversee quarterly fund and investor reporting for various investment vehicles. This role encompasses the management of fund accounting operations and back-office functions, including trade processing, debt oversight, income and expense recognition, general ledger management, net asset value ("NAV") calculation and reporting, as well as the preparation of supporting schedules for financial statements. Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining a robust internal control system.

Key Responsibilities

This role will also involve assisting with various functions, including but not limited to:
  • Preparation of weekly cash flow reports
  • Conducting cash reconciliations and tracking activities
  • Reviewing expenses incurred by third-party managing agents
  • Issuing warehouse certificates
  • Coordinating wire transfers among different cash accounts
  • Facilitating debt repayments and borrowings
  • Providing consignment reports to third-party managing agents
  • Generating consignment invoices for sales
  • Coordinating capital call and distribution notices with external administrators
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly PCAP statements
  • Managing monthly derivative payments
  • Updating sub line reporting
  • Reviewing accounts receivable summary reports
  • Preparing coding for accounts payable invoices
  • Executing other related duties or ad-hoc assignments as required
Qualifications

Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, required
  • CPA candidate preferred
Professional Experience
  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant accounting experience with a strong understanding of GAAP, required
  • Familiarity with the private equity sector and/or aviation, preferred
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and resolve complex issues
  • Experience in leading routine activities and providing mentorship
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with functional knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
