Lead Manufacturing Engineer

Your Role
We are looking for a qualified individual to join our team in a manufacturing support capacity within the Pulp, Power & Recovery Center of Excellence (CoE). This position allows for remote work.
This role will report directly to the Manager of the Pulp CoE and will collaborate with various teams across operations to enhance asset performance and reliability.
Our TeamUtilizing PBM and Frameworks, you will proactively contribute to the formulation and execution of enhancement strategies for Pulp manufacturing operations.
This position is pivotal in partnering with internal stakeholders to drive results and create exceptional value aligned with GP's manufacturing objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Establish robust relationships with stakeholders in Operations, Engineering, and Business teams.
- Conduct benchmarking and gap analysis to assess asset health and performance related to fiberline and recausticizing operations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Design, Operate, and Maintain (DOM) standards for relevant systems and assets.
- Analyze current systems and devise strategies to enhance safety, reliability, efficiency, asset uptime, and quality.
- Collaborate with remote monitoring teams to optimize asset monitoring strategies.
- Work alongside the Asset Center Owner (ACO) to facilitate experimentation and the implementation of improvement initiatives.
- Support manufacturing sites in adhering to DOM standards.
- Assist during facility outages, ensuring effective maintenance planning and execution practices.
- Be accountable for delivering value through technical support across multiple mill operations.
- Identify capital improvement opportunities and collaborate with site and external engineering teams on project development, execution, and commissioning.
- Ensure that operations meet minimum qualifications for asset operation and maintenance.
- Adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety Compliance with the goal of achieving zero incidents.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and work effectively with large cross-functional teams.
- Over 10 years of experience in manufacturing or operations, preferably within the paper or process industry.
- Expertise in Fiberline and Recausticizing operations within an integrated facility, with a focus on sustainable operational improvements.
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships at all organizational levels.
- Proficient in process engineering, including heat and material balance and dynamic modeling.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, capable of collecting, distilling, and analyzing data to derive key insights.
- Adept at recognizing potential issues, identifying alternatives, and making informed recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Pulp and Paper Science.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in operations and engineering within the pulp & paper industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the design, construction, operations, and maintenance of relevant assets.
- Proven experience in process improvement and optimization.
- Experience in managing projects and implementing project activities.
- Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time.
For this role, we anticipate a salary range of $160K - $220K.
