Job Overview

As a key member of the Containment department at Tate Inc., entry-level Production Equipment Operators will engage in various tasks including operating saws, drilling, assembling components, and banding skids. This role provides an excellent opportunity to acquire hands-on experience and a comprehensive understanding of the machinery and processes utilized in our operations. Note: This position is designated for the second shift (2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.), which includes a 10% shift differential on top of the base pay rate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of all machinery and equipment in the department, including monitoring operations, making minor adjustments, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
  • Position components and oversee equipment operations while adhering to established production standards. Report any issues to the Team Leader or Supervisor.
  • Make minor adjustments for set-ups, including changing saw blades, mills, and drills for various production sizes.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure that parts meet quality specifications while maintaining production efficiency.
  • Follow established Manufacturing Operating Procedures or Standard Operating Procedures without deviation unless authorized by supervision.
  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation as required.
  • Utilize banding equipment and hand-jacks effectively for the proper handling and storage of products or materials.
  • Keep supervisors informed of any operational issues or equipment malfunctions.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 5 lbs. and a maximum of 40 lbs. repetitively for at least an 8-hour shift.
  • Proficient in using various tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, dial indicators, and feeler gauges.
  • With appropriate PPE, capable of working in environments that may contain non-hazardous airborne particles due to manufacturing processes.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, or crouch for at least an 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to manipulate machinery, equipment, or parts, and work near moving mechanical components.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Capable of working collaboratively in a team environment and engaging with a diverse workforce.
