Advanced Composite Assembly Technician

Under minimal supervision, engage in tasks related to the fabrication and assembly of composite materials, utilizing expertise in bonding techniques and precision instruments. Availability for overtime and occasional weekend work is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interprets process documentation or verbal directives to determine the necessary operations for constructing various components to fulfill contractual obligations.
- Prepares tools and fixtures for fabrication and testing procedures.
- Operates standard machinery to address in-process issues such as resin imbalance, air entrapment, or material separation.
- Mixes raw materials including resins, catalysts, fillers, and colors in accordance with established processes.
- Sets up and operates molding machines and presses, or applies composite materials onto molds or fixtures to form parts.
- Wraps molds in vacuum-sealing materials, connects necessary fittings, and evacuates air to prepare for curing or bonding processes.
- Utilizes cutting tools to size materials accurately.
- Marks cutting lines on materials following templates, blueprints, or samples using measuring instruments.
- Configures and operates curing ovens and autoclaves to achieve specified outcomes.
- Cures products using heat sources, ensuring proper connections for heating and cooling systems.
- Verifies dimensions and specifications using precision measuring tools.
- Conducts structural integrity tests using mechanical testing equipment.
- Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
In compliance with federal mandates, employees are required to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or obtain an approved exemption.
A High School Diploma is required, with preference given to candidates who have completed additional coursework in a relevant field. A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in roles such as Composite Technician, Assembler, or Machinist within the Aerospace, Automotive, or Marine Manufacturing sectors is preferred. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings is essential, along with strong mechanical aptitude.
