Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Meter Technician to join our team at Washington City. As a Meter Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electric meters, as well as providing excellent customer service to our residents and businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain electric meters, including reading and recording meter readings
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on meters and related equipment
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Work with customers to identify and resolve issues related to high bills or other meter-related problems
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certification in metering and testing preferred
  • Four years of experience in meter installation, maintenance, and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Considerable knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices, as well as safety procedures and protocols
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Working Conditions

This position requires regular exposure to changing weather conditions and hazards common to primary and secondary power systems. The incumbent must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
