Control Technician 2

The Control Technician 2 role focuses on the assembly of control systems, installation in the field, and the execution of commissioning protocols related to control systems and field instrumentation. This position also encompasses troubleshooting, calibration of field devices, equipment testing, analysis, documentation, and the revision of schematics. Additionally, responsibilities include mentoring new team members, adhering to company protocols, and achieving quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and execute both verbal and written assembly instructions
  • Conduct sheet metal fabrication, wiring, painting, and welding tasks
  • Facilitate training sessions for new hires
  • Manage the ordering, storage, and inventory of materials and tools
  • Ensure timely completion of work in accordance with quality benchmarks
Qualifications and Experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience in a workshop environment and 1 year in electrical work
  • High School diploma or equivalent
Certifications Required:
  • Achieve CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months of employment
  • Pass a background check and drug screening
Work Experience Expectations:
  • Familiarity with control circuits, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Capability to construct control panels and select appropriate control components
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems
  • Proficiency in installing wiring for PLCs, VFDs, and other control devices
  • Utilization of various testing instruments and meters
  • Understanding of industrial automation and control methodologies
Tools Utilized:
  • Various power tools, drills, and saws
  • Punch sets, Fluke meters, oscilloscopes, and laptops
Physical Abilities:
  • Capability to lift heavy materials
  • Ability to work at heights and in diverse physical positions
  • Possess good vision and effective communication skills
  • Apply general principles and problem-solving techniques
