Job Title: Strike Group Operations Watch Director & LVC Mission Coordinator

Job Summary:

Huntington Ingalls Industries Mission Technologies division is seeking a highly skilled Strike Group Operations Watch Director & LVC Mission Coordinator to support Fleet Operations at the Southern California Tactical Training Range (SCTTR). The ideal candidate will have expertise in Integrated and Sustainment Phase Training requirements for Naval forces assigned to the Commander U.S. THIRD Fleet and extensive knowledge of Surface, Subsurface, and Air Warfare exercise requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and provide recommendations on issues dealing with military command control and communications, electronic warfare, weapon systems, contingency operations, Military Tactics Techniques and Procedures (MTTP), force planning, and training exercises.
  • Coordinate with user community representatives throughout all phases of development concerning requirements definition, clarification, prioritization, and alternatives.
  • Analyze the conduct and results of operational user training, military maneuvers or simulated wartime operations undertaken to main the capabilities of a force.
  • Compare, analyze and evaluate the relative merits of program designs and alternatives.
  • Apply emerging doctrine and tactics, whether detailed in formal doctrinal changes or emanating from Advanced Warfighting Experiments (AWEs), Advanced Technology Demonstrations (ATDs), or Force XXI activities, to system design and development.
  • Assess the impact of programmatic and technical options on stated user requirements and doctrine.
  • Prepare reports and briefs summarizing support requirements, deficiencies, and investments for various programs and systems.

Requirements:

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field OR 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field OR 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizen with US Government (DOD) Secret Clearance.
  • Naval active duty experience at the senior officer level.
  • Five (5) years of Exercise Planning at the Fleet or COCOM level.
  • Eight (8) years' experience in Navy Amphibious Warfare, Strike Warfare, Surface Warfare, Air Warfare, or Naval Special Warfare operations, including exercise scheduling, requirements and resource analysis, planning, execution, data acquisition and support documentation.
  • Knowledge of Navy operational and administrative procedures and directives.

Physical Requirements:

  • May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
  • Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
