Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team at Duke Regional Hospital. As an ED Tech, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our emergency services team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in patient care interventions and personal care procedures for patients.
  • Perform approved dressings and wound care for NCA level patients.
  • Assist with nutritional activities, personal hygiene, and ambulation.
  • Collect, deliver, and conduct routine tests on patient specimens.
  • Escort or transport patients who do not require hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Clean assigned areas, stock and replenish supplies, and maintain readiness of HAZMAT Room.
  • Perform EKG technician tasks, including routine and STAT EKGs, order verification, and electronic transmission.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
  • Successful completion of NCA I training or North Carolina EMT training.
  • Current minimum listing as an NCA I with the Division of Facility Services or current minimum credential as EMT.
  • BLS certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of related healthcare experience as an NCA, ED Tech, EMT, or equivalent.
  • Current minimum listing as an NCA II with the Division of Facility Services or current minimum certification credential as Advanced EMT EMT-B.
