Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team at Duke Regional Hospital. As an ED Tech, you'll play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our emergency services team.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in patient care interventions and personal care procedures for patients.
- Perform approved dressings and wound care for NCA level patients.
- Assist with nutritional activities, personal hygiene, ambulation, bowel and bladder elimination, and Foley and Straight Catheters.
- Collect, deliver, and conduct routine tests on patient specimens.
- Escort or transport patients who do not require hemodynamic monitoring.
- Clean assigned areas, stock and replenish supplies and equipment as required.
- Maintain readiness of HAZMAT Room and provide assistance during hazmat decontamination procedures.
- Perform EKG technician tasks, including routine and STAT EKGs, order verification, and electronic transmission of EKGs.
- Assist with patient registration, admission, transfer, and discharge.
- Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
- Successful completion of NCA I training or North Carolina EMT training.
- Current minimum listing as an NCA I with the Division of Facility Services or current minimum credential as EMT with no substantiated findings of abuse, fraud, neglect, or misappropriation of property.
- BLS required.
- One year of related healthcare experience as an NCA, ED Tech, EMT, or equivalent.
- Current minimum listing as an NCA II with the Division of Facility Services or current minimum certification credential as Advanced EMT EMT-B with no substantiated findings of abuse, fraud, neglect, or misappropriation of property.
- BLS preferred.
