Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our Emergency Department team at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC. As a Paramedic, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in accordance with the Paramedic scope of practice, under the medical oversight of the Medical Director.
- Assist clinical staff in the evaluation, treatment, and care of patients.
- Obtain pertinent history and perform physical examinations.
- Perform technical procedures as delegated.
- Monitor patients and maintain records using patient monitoring systems and electronic health records.
- Document patients' status, delivery of care, and evaluation of patients' response to care according to specific procedures and established protocols.
- Communicate essential information to all appropriate members of the healthcare team to promote sharing of information throughout the continuum of care.
- High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred.
- Preferred one-year experience as Paramedic or other relevant clinical experience.
- Current North Carolina Paramedic credential or ability to obtain certification.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS required upon hire.
The Emergency Department at Duke Regional Hospital is a 49-bed unit serving the adult population, with an additional 12-bed observation unit and 18-bed behavioral health unit. As a Paramedic, you will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.
