Position Overview

We are in search of a qualified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) to fill a vital role. The successful candidate will possess over three years of experience in pediatric care, particularly with infants. This position requires a nationally certified healthcare provider who can deliver primary and/or specialized medical care across various healthcare environments. The role is designed for remote practice in a non-traditional clinical setting, utilizing virtual health consultations through video, mobile, telephonic, and remote patient monitoring technologies. The ideal candidate is a seasoned healthcare professional whose diagnostic skills are complemented by a genuine concern for patient welfare. Proficiency in virtual platforms and advanced healthcare technology is essential. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with a physician in accordance with an established APRN protocol agreement, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, and the management of both acute and chronic health conditions.

The APRN will uphold the mission, vision, values, and objectives of the WellStar Health System by emphasizing clinical excellence through the delivery of quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties
  • Deliver high-quality care to all patients in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate to develop and implement Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) protocols for accurate diagnosis.
  • Participate in quality assurance, risk management, and peer review programs as required.
  • Conduct comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations, initiate necessary lab orders, and evaluate diagnostic data to establish patient health status and treatment plans.
  • Work effectively within multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Educate patients about their conditions and treatment options.
  • May serve as a clinical preceptor for PA/APRN students and other healthcare professionals.
  • Refer patients to specialists as needed for further consultation or specialized care.
  • Adapt to remote work to provide virtual healthcare services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on training and experience.

Required Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Education Program or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Program.

Licenses and Certifications: All certifications must be obtained upon hire unless specified otherwise.
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - PC
  • Active licensure in GA, AL, FL, NC, SC, TN, VA
Additional Certifications:

Maintain privileges to practice per medical staff guidelines upon hire.

Current state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse upon hire.

Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) upon hire.

Certification by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) upon hire.

DEA Registration Number upon hire.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of three years of direct patient care experience in a physician practice, emergency department, urgent care, or similar setting, with pediatric experience (including infants).

At least one year of experience in a telehealth or virtual care environment.

Skills and Competencies

Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach in multi-specialty medical groups.

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, with the confidence to represent the organization effectively.

Must have a suitable remote work environment with reliable high-speed internet access.

Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records.
