Position Overview
We are in search of a qualified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) for an exciting opportunity. The preferred candidate will possess over three years of experience in pediatric care, particularly with infants. This role requires a nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who delivers primary and/or specialized nursing and/or medical services across various healthcare environments. The position will be conducted remotely in a non-traditional clinical framework, where virtual health consultations will be executed using video, mobile, telephonic, and remote patient monitoring technologies. The ideal candidate is a seasoned, perceptive healthcare professional whose virtual diagnostic skills are complemented by a deep concern for patient welfare. Proficiency in utilizing virtual platforms and advanced healthcare technologies is essential. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with a physician under a pre-established APRN protocol agreement. The practice focuses on health promotion, disease prevention, and the assessment and management of both acute and chronic health conditions.
The APRN will uphold the mission, vision, values, and objectives of the WellStar Health System by emphasizing clinical excellence through the delivery of quality, consistent, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Clinical Duties
- Provide high-quality care to all patients under your supervision in a safe and effective manner.
- Collaborate to develop and implement Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) protocols for precise diagnosis.
- Participate in quality assurance, risk management, and peer review programs, as well as grievance procedures and utilization control mechanisms established by the Medical Group and its Affiliates. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Conduct comprehensive medical histories, perform thorough physical examinations, initiate necessary lab orders, radiology tests, or other diagnostic evaluations, and assess lab results for both new and returning clinic patients to establish a record of the patient's current health status and formulate a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
- Collaborate effectively as part of multidisciplinary care teams.
- Educate patients about their conditions and treatment strategies.
- May serve as a clinical mentor for PA/APRN students and other healthcare professionals.
- Refer patients to specialists as needed for consultation or specialized health resources and treatment.
- Must be capable of working remotely to provide virtual healthcare services.
- Additional duties as assigned based on training and experience. Graduate of an A.R.C. approved Physician Assistant Education Program or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Program.
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)
All certifications are mandatory upon hire unless otherwise specified.
- Cert Ped Nurse Prac - PC
- Active GA, AL, FL, NC, SC, TN, VA license
Must qualify for and maintain privileges to practice at facilities per medical staff guidelines upon hire.
Current state licensure to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse upon hire.
APRN Current certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) upon hire.
American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) certification upon hire.
DEA Registration Number upon hire.
Required Minimum Experience
At least three years of direct patient care experience in a physician practice, emergency department, urgent care, or other outpatient settings, with pediatric experience (including infants).
A minimum of one year of experience working in a telehealth/virtual care environment.
Required Minimum Skills
Demonstrated leadership capabilities and knowledge.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in multi-specialty medical groups.
Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, listening, and presentation—along with the confidence to represent the organization favorably in both formal and informal settings.
