Position Overview

We are actively seeking a qualified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) for an exciting opportunity. The ideal candidate will possess over 3 years of experience working with pediatric patients, including infants. This role requires a nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who delivers primary and/or specialized nursing and/or medical care across various healthcare environments. The position will be performed remotely in a non-traditional clinical setting, utilizing video, mobile, telephonic, and remote patient monitoring technologies for virtual health consultations. The successful candidate will be an experienced, intuitive healthcare professional whose diagnostic skills in a virtual context are complemented by a genuine concern for their patients. Proficiency in virtual platforms and advanced healthcare technology is essential. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with a physician in accordance with an established APRN protocol agreement. The practice will focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and the diagnosis and treatment of both acute and chronic health conditions.

The APRN will uphold the mission, vision, values, and objectives of the WellStar Health System by prioritizing clinical excellence through the delivery of quality, consistent, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care to all patients under your supervision in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate to develop and implement Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) protocols for targeted diagnoses.
  • Participate in quality assurance, risk management, and peer review programs, as well as comply with grievance procedures and utilization control mechanisms established by the Medical Group and its Affiliates. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Conducting comprehensive medical histories, performing thorough physical examinations, initiating necessary lab orders, radiology tests, or other diagnostic evaluations, and assessing lab data for new and returning clinic patients and hospital admissions to establish a record of the patient's current health status and formulate a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Educate patients regarding their conditions and treatment plans.
  • Serve as a clinical preceptor for PA/APRN students and other healthcare professionals.
  • Refer patients to specialists as necessary for consultation or specialized health resources and treatment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work remotely to provide virtual healthcare.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned and appropriate based on training and experience. Required Minimum Education

Graduate of an A.R.C. approved Physician Assistant Education Program or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Program.

Required Minimum Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience with direct patient care in a physician practice, emergency department, urgent care, or other ambulatory setting, with pediatric experience (including infants).

Minimum 1 year of experience working in a telehealth/virtual care setting.

Demonstrated leadership skills and knowledge.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in multi-specialty medical groups.

Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, listening, and presentation, along with the confidence to represent the organization favorably in both formal and informal settings.
