Position Overview

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) is a nationally certified healthcare professional who delivers primary and/or specialized medical care across diverse healthcare environments. This role is designed for remote practice in a non-traditional clinical framework, where virtual health consultations are conducted through various digital platforms, including video, mobile, telephonic, and remote patient monitoring technologies. The ideal candidate is a seasoned and perceptive healthcare provider whose diagnostic skills in a virtual setting are complemented by a deep commitment to patient welfare. Proficiency in utilizing advanced healthcare technology and virtual platforms is essential. The NP collaborates with a physician under a predefined APRN protocol agreement, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, and the management of both acute and chronic health conditions.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Clinical Duties
  • Deliver high-quality care to all patients in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate in the development and application of Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) protocols for precise diagnosis.
  • Participate in quality assurance, risk management, and peer review initiatives as mandated by the Medical Group and its affiliates. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Conducting comprehensive medical histories, performing thorough physical examinations, initiating necessary laboratory and radiology tests, and evaluating lab results for both new and returning patients to establish a current health record and formulate a treatment plan.
  • Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Educate patients about their health conditions and treatment strategies.
  • Serve as a clinical mentor for PA/APRN students and other healthcare professionals.
  • Refer patients to specialists as needed for additional consultation or specialized care.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work remotely to provide virtual healthcare services.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned based on training and experience. Responsible for achieving patient experience goals through operational efficiency, patient follow-up, and standardization of practices.

Minimum Education Requirements

Graduation from an A.R.C. accredited Physician Assistant Education Program or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Program is required.

Licensure and Certification Requirements

All certifications must be obtained upon hire unless specified otherwise.
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care
  • Active licenses in GA, AL, FL, NC, SC, TN, VA

Additional Licensure and Certification Requirements

Eligibility for and maintenance of privileges to practice at facilities per medical staff guidelines upon hire is required.

Current state licensure to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse upon hire is required.

APRN current certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) upon hire is required.

Certification by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) upon hire is required.

DEA Registration Number upon hire is required.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of 3 years of direct patient care experience in a physician practice, emergency department, urgent care, or other outpatient settings, including both adult and pediatric care (including infants), is required.

A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a telehealth or virtual care environment is required.

Skills Requirements

Demonstrated leadership abilities and knowledge.

Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to collaborate effectively within multi-specialty medical groups.

Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, listening, and presentation—along with the confidence to represent the organization favorably in both formal and informal settings.

Must possess the capability to work remotely to provide virtual healthcare.

A professional remote work environment with access to reliable high-speed internet/broadband is required.

Proficiency in the use of Electronic Health Records is essential.
