Position Overview
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) is a nationally certified and licensed healthcare professional responsible for delivering primary and/or specialized medical care across diverse healthcare environments. This role is conducted remotely in a non-traditional clinical framework, where virtual health consultations are executed using video, mobile, telephonic, and remote patient monitoring technologies. The ideal candidate is a seasoned and perceptive healthcare provider whose diagnostic skills in a virtual setting are complemented by a deep concern for patient welfare. Proficiency in utilizing virtual platforms and advanced healthcare technologies is essential. The NP collaborates with a physician under a defined APRN protocol agreement, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, and the assessment and management of both acute and chronic health conditions.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Clinical Duties
- Deliver high-quality care to all patients in a safe and efficient manner.
- Collaborate in the development and application of Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) protocols for precise diagnosis.
- Participate in quality assurance, risk management, and peer review initiatives, adhering to established procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive medical histories, perform thorough physical examinations, initiate necessary laboratory and diagnostic tests, and evaluate lab results to establish a current health status and formulate a treatment plan.
- Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary care teams.
- Educate patients on their health conditions and treatment strategies.
- May serve as a clinical mentor for PA/APRN students and other healthcare professionals.
- Refer patients to specialists as necessary for additional consultation or specialized care.
- Must possess the capability to work remotely to deliver virtual healthcare services.
- Other responsibilities as assigned based on qualifications and experience. Education: Graduate of an A.R.C. approved Physician Assistant Education Program or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Program.
Licensure and Certification: All certifications must be obtained upon hire unless specified otherwise.
- Certified Nurse Practitioner
- Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care
- Active licenses in GA, AL, FL, NC, SC, TN, VA
Eligibility for and maintenance of privileges to practice at facilities per medical staff guidelines upon hire is required.
Current state licensure to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse upon hire is required.
APRN certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) upon hire is required.
Certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) upon hire is required.
DEA Registration Number upon hire is required.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of direct patient care experience in a physician practice, emergency department, urgent care, or other outpatient settings, including both adult and pediatric care (infants included) is required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a telehealth or virtual care environment is required.
