Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation
    • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
    • Assist in reviewing complex journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations for monthly close and year-end close.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting
    • Analyze financial results, on a consolidated basis or business segment, and prepare variance analysis reports to explain budget to actuals and variance to trend.
    • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and alert the Assistant Controller if necessary.
  • Accounting and Compliance
    • Maintain accurate accounting of business transactions of the organization, by applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Ensure that all month-end close deadlines are met, and all entries are prepared and booked accurately and timely.
  • Team Management and Development
    • Train and provide guidance to all levels of accountants, and manage teams workload to ensure all deadlines will be met.
    • Interview candidates for positions that report to the Accounting Manager as necessary.
  • Special Projects and Initiatives
    • Assist with management of audit by preparing, compiling, and reviewing documentation for the auditors and corresponding with the auditors to provide requested information.
    • Assist with tax preparation and tax audits, as assigned.
  • Soft Skills and Qualifications
    • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a remote environment.
    • Ability to maintain friendly, cordial relations with all clients and employees, and maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that results in a positive work relationship with customers, co-workers, and managers.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another related field.
    • CPA preferred.
    • Minimum of 7 years related experience.
    • Publicly traded healthcare preferred.
    • Public Accounting experience preferred.
    • 3 years of Managerial experience preferred.
    • Advanced Excel skills, including vlookups and pivot tables required.
    • Sage Intacct and Adaptive Insights experience is a plus.
