MV Transportation is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk/Reconciler to join our team. As a Payroll Clerk/Reconciler, you will be responsible for accurately preparing and processing payroll for all project employees bi-weekly, providing administrative assistance with employee file information, and preparing monthly reports for our client.
Key Responsibilities- Payroll Processing: Enter all payroll information daily in appropriate software, making note of potential pay discrepancies and ensuring the accuracy of employee time data.
- Payroll Template Maintenance: Maintain an accurate payroll template to ensure all hours are paid and accounted for.
- Paycheck Distribution: Distribute paychecks on a bi-weekly basis.
- Reporting: Prepare daily and weekly reports comparing revenue and payroll hours for the Operations Manager and General Manager.
- Employee Support: Address employee concerns regarding hours worked, pay rates, taxes, garnishments, and paycheck discrepancies.
- Payroll Accounting: Ensure the accuracy of payroll accounting in the general ledger and monthly financial statements.
- Employee File Maintenance: Update and maintain payroll-related employee file information.
- Wage and Salary Increases: Accurately and efficiently process wage and salary increases.
- Communication: Provide timely updates to employees through memoranda and other means.
- Driver Manifest Reconciliation: Reconcile driver manifests.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Data entry, payroll processing, clerical experience.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, general knowledge of Windows-based computer operating systems, ability to read, write, and speak English, effective written and oral communication skills.
