Job Summary

MedStar Health is seeking a highly qualified Certified Athletic Trainer to join our team at MedStar National Rehabilitation Network. As a key member of our sports medicine team, you will provide expert medical coverage and leadership in community outreach to promote wellness, advance health, and prevent injuries across various active populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site assessments of injured athletes, including review of pertinent history information, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations.
  • Attend and represent MedStar National Rehabilitation Network at seasonal parent nights, coaches meetings, booster club meetings, contract meetings, and Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) staff meetings.
  • Initiate referral processes to navigate outreach community through the MedStar National Rehabilitation Network system to increase volumes.
  • Effectively communicate with athletes, their families, and staff regarding athlete status.
  • Prevent, recognize, evaluate, and provide immediate care, rehabilitation, and reconditioning of athletic injuries/illness.
  • Provide athletic medicine coverage of events affiliated with MedStar National Rehabilitation Network, such as camps, tournaments, health fairs, and educational classes.
  • Maintain accountability for individual administrative requirements, including site-specific schedules, reporting, and tracking.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in athletic training from an accredited college or university.
  • Certified as an ATC by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC), AHA (American Heart Association), and CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) certification.
  • Eligible for ATC license in Maryland and Virginia and eligible to practice in the District of Columbia.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years' experience necessary, preferred.
Compensation

The hiring range for this position is $60,632 - $101,899.
