Water Resources Project Engineer

Our Washington, D.C. office is seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer to be responsible for roadway drainage engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design software, with experience in storm drain design, stormwater management design, and erosion and sediment control design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
- Perform roadway drainage design computations
- Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
- Develop construction cost estimates
- Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
- Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications, and estimates
- Manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines
- Develop extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals
- Attend meetings with clients
- Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
Requirements:
- Proficient in Bentley OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Written and communication skills
- Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design software preferred
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program
- 4-10 years of experience in Water Resources or related engineering discipline
- Hydrologic Modeling experience using TR55 / TR20 and Rational Method
- Storm drain design, stormwater management design, and erosion and sediment control design experience
