Job Summary

The Department of State Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled Personnel Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to personnel documentation, payroll, and benefits administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process personnel documentation, including health and dental benefits, Affordable Care Act System, and payroll documentation
  • Communicate with other agencies and departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of personnel records
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee leave balances, probation hours, and individual development plans
  • Provide new employee orientation training and assist with reception desk coverage as needed
  • Perform other assignments as assigned by management
Requirements
  • Permanent civil service status, reachable on an employment list, transfer eligibility, or reinstatement eligibility
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Dependability and ability to manage a heavy workload
  • Experience in human resources, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, even under pressure and multiple deadlines. The position requires self-starting abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
