Job Summary:The Physician Specialist will provide specialized medical services in a specific field, working closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:- Provide specialized medical services in a specific field, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct training and education for interns and resident physicians.
- Consult with staff physicians and para-medical personnel regarding patient care and medical work performed.
- Conduct postmortem examinations and provide training and lead man supervision over other physicians engaged in these activities.
- Certify the cause of death and testify in court as an expert witness.
- Perform administrative responsibilities, including budget preparation, equipment and supply needs, personnel functions, and work procedure development.
- Assist in the planning and direction of health programs within the specialty.
- Develop new techniques within the medical specialty.
- Maintain varied hours on a rotated schedule with other physicians to ensure 24/7 coverage.
- Completion of a residency approved by an American Specialty Board in one or more designated specialties.
- California State Physician and Surgeon's Certificate authorized by the Board of Medical Examiners of the State of California.
- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
