Job Summary:

The Medical Records Coordinator at Lutheran Downtown Hospital is responsible for collecting and verifying patient information to ensure accurate recording in our hospital system. This role requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage patient data effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and verify patient demographics, insurance information, and other relevant details
  • Calculate cost estimates and collect co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurances at the time of service
  • Ensure all necessary forms are completed by patients in accordance with state and federal laws
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge of computers and other standard office equipment required
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute required with attention to detail
  • Medical office or hospital experience with collection or registration experience preferred
