Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of release of information requests, maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service. The successful candidate will safeguard patient privacy and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process release of information requests, retrieving patient medical charts and transmitting them according to established procedures and standards.
  • Validate requests and authorizations for release of medical information, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Perform quality checks on all work to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and proper invoicing.
  • Provide excellent customer service, being attentive and respectful, and proactive in identifying client concerns or problems.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional personal appearance and observe the dress code established.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring that records and files are properly stored.
  • Work within scope of position and direction, willingly accepting assignments and being available to take on additional facilities or help out during backlogs.
  • Maintain confidentiality, security, and standards of ethics with all information.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma (GED) required
  • A minimum of 2 years prior experience in a medical records department or like setting preferred
  • Strong computer software experience, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to type 50 wpm
  • Ability to use fax, copier, scanning machine
  • Self-motivated, team player with proven customer satisfaction skills
  • Ability to multi-task
