Civil Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, schedule, coordinate, and oversee the work of junior-level staff, technicians, administrative staff, and draftspersons.
* Collaborate with senior staff on client relations, client and in-house technical presentations.
* Work collaboratively with other engineers and planners on projects with infrastructure authorities.
* Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
* 0-1 years of relevant post-education experience in Civil/Site/Highway design.
* Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset.
* Familiarity with relevant civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
* Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
* Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
* Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
* Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Engineer in Training Certification.
* Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (i.e., MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
* Proficient in preparing drawings using Bentley Microstation, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads software.
* Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline.
* A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
