Opportunity Overview
WSP Global Inc. is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. Be part of our Northeast Civil Highway Team and contribute to a growing organization dedicated to meeting client objectives and addressing their challenges.

Your Contributions

As a civil/roadway task lead on smaller projects, you will provide support for larger, more complex initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading key project elements and managing independent assignments.
- Collaborating with team members throughout all phases of transportation project design and construction.
- Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing the work of junior staff, technicians, and draftspersons.
- Utilizing software such as Microstation OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil3D proficiently.
- Assisting senior staff with client relations and technical presentations.
- Working in partnership with engineers and planners on projects involving infrastructure authorities.

Ethical Standards
We expect you to exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies.

Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a closely related field.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience post-education.
- Understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and processes related to design/build and permitting.
- Familiarity with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management, including both rehabilitation and new design.
- Knowledge of civil construction laws, codes, regulations, and compliance practices.
- Strong analytical skills with sound judgment in evaluating situations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic proficiency in technical writing and office software.
- Experience with discipline-specific design software (e.g., MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS).
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and safety policies.
- Flexibility to work schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek and occasional travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer in Training Certification.
- Prior design experience.
- Active participation in local professional organizations.
