WSP Global Inc. is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Your Contributions

As a Civil/Roadway task lead on smaller initiatives, you will provide support for larger, intricate projects. You will be responsible for essential project components, independent tasks, or collaborating as a team member throughout all phases of transportation project design and construction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and supervising the work of junior staff, technicians, and draftspersons.
  • Utilizing software tools effectively, with a preference for proficiency in Microstation OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil3D.
  • Assisting senior staff with client relations and delivering technical presentations.
  • Collaborating with engineers and planners on projects involving infrastructure authorities.

Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and processes, including design/build and permitting.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction laws, codes, regulations, and compliance practices.
  • An analytical mindset with sound judgment in evaluating situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, effectively conveying ideas to both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Self-leadership capabilities with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic proficiency in technical writing and various software tools.
  • Experience with discipline-specific design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and others.
  • A proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and safety policies.
  • The ability to accommodate project-specific schedules that may extend beyond standard work hours.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally based on project needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Prior design experience.
  • Active participation in local professional practice organizations.
