Position Summary:

The role of the Companion is essential in assisting clients to maintain their independence within their homes by providing support in daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with non-medical self-care tasks.
  • Deliver homemaking services to those who are ill, injured, or elderly.
  • Monitor clients for any changes in their physical or mental health and communicate findings to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized living environment.
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals tailored to the client's dietary needs.
  • Handle kitchen cleanup and dishwashing after meal preparation.
  • Support clients and caregivers in maintaining safety, hygiene, and nutrition.
  • Manage laundry and other household tasks.
  • Follow established documentation and care protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a companion or homemaker role is advantageous.
  • Must be at least eighteen years old.
  • Completion of a competency evaluation for companion/homemaker roles is required.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle are necessary, or an alternative means of transportation must be maintained.
