Job Summary

Code Ninjas of Houston, TX is seeking a highly skilled Code Compliance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with municipal, federal, and state code provisions, zoning codes, and ordinances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complex enforcement of municipal adopted codes, including field inspections and enforcement of provisions related to public welfare, safety, public nuisance, property maintenance, structure design, and abandoned buildings.
  • Explain regulations relating to municipal code provisions, including zoning, land use, planning, design review, disabled access, and related codes to the public.
  • Testify in judicial and quasi-judicial proceedings as needed.
  • Perform related work as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and four (4) years of experience in municipal planning functions or municipal code enforcement, or six (6) years of business experience in a field that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position.
  • Preferred qualification is certification by ICC (International Code Council) or AACE (American Association of Code Enforcement).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License and be insurable by the City of Española's auto/vehicle insurance.
