Job Overview

Position: Shift Lead

The Shift Lead at CGC Group Inc. is essential for maintaining the efficiency of our warehouse operations. This role involves supervising daily activities, guiding team members, and ensuring a safe and orderly work environment. Your expertise in leadership, meticulousness, and problem-solving will be vital for achieving our operational goals. Experience in the produce sector and the ability to work in a cold storage setting are necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and direct a team of warehouse personnel to meet daily output and quality benchmarks. Offer coaching and support to enhance team performance.
  • Organize and manage daily operations, including receiving, picking, packing, and dispatching goods. Efficiently allocate resources to fulfill operational needs and reduce downtime.
  • Perform regular quality checks to ensure precision and excellence in all warehouse functions. Implement corrective measures as required to address any inconsistencies.
  • Oversee inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and stock replenishment. Monitor inventory levels and communicate any discrepancies to relevant parties.
  • Uphold safety standards and best practices to foster a secure workplace. Conduct safety training and inspections to mitigate risks.
  • Act as a communication bridge between warehouse staff and management, relaying operational updates and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Identify and tackle operational challenges promptly. Collaborate with various teams to enhance processes and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Coordinate with carriers regarding their estimated arrival times to ensure timely preparation of orders.
  • Conduct quality control inspections of incoming shipments, ensuring all documentation and photographs are submitted to the appropriate department.
  • Maintain organized storage areas and optimize floor space for safety and efficiency, while managing warehouse supply inventory.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning optimally by adhering to operational guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher is required; additional qualifications in logistics or supply chain management are advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in warehouse operations with a leadership or supervisory background.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is essential.
  • Experience operating forklifts is necessary.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment is required.
  • Prior experience in the produce or perishables sector is essential.
  • Food safety training is preferred.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to motivate and guide team members towards achieving objectives.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities, with a strong focus on detail.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards in a warehouse setting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends as necessary.

The training schedule for this position is from 2 PM to 11 PM, with a transition to first shift expected. Flexibility in work hours and weekends is essential based on operational requirements.

Compensation and Benefits: This position offers an hourly wage of $20-$22. After the probationary period, benefits include health, dental, vision, gap insurance, 401k, and paid time off.
