About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at Comhar Inc. in Philadelphia, PA.

Job Summary

The Mental Health Technician will work from a recovery framework within our multidisciplinary treatment team, providing individual supportive counseling and psychoeducational groups using therapeutic interventions, cultural competence, and trauma-informed care to help individuals achieve their recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct services to residents, including assistance with personal hygiene and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), as well as assistance with all tasks necessary for maintaining a therapeutic community and residence.
  • Conduct activities with residents, including educational, social, and leisure programs, incorporating resident input and suggestions in the planning process.
  • Document in clinical charts and residential logs as required, including progress notes on assigned residents, and report all resident crises and/or unusual incidents to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as assigned, including Quality Improvement Program and multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in human services or a related field, plus 2 years of experience in mental health/mental retardation (MH/MR) services.
  • 12 semester hours of behavioral health credits required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
